Unfortunately, Robb’s Step Borther Richard Dart has recently been jailed for six years for plotting terrorist activity in the UK.
I too watched Robb’s program about his brother and desperately wanted there to be a positive ending to this story. Perhaps the saving grace is that he was caught and he didn’t actually unlease horrific sufferering on innocent people in the UK.
Robb’s documentry was very interesting as it gave us an insight into what these young men are thinking, but untimately I am depressed that it has just ended up re-inforcing all the negative stereotypes about what happens when dissaffected people follow the path of fundamentalism.
I hope Robb and his family are holding up OK, as they are probably the biggest victims in this sorry saga. I’m just thankful that our security services are capable of preventing dangerous people like Richard doing untold harm to other wholly innocent families.

I experienced the left hand treatment from british muslims I hung out with over a decade ago at uni. They usually used the right hand but sometimes those same muslims would be prepared with left hand out. while I had my right hand out, leaving an awkward pause and I switched to left hand (religious tolerance)It was only with this documentary a decade later that I learnt what that was about, the reasoning behind it!

I loved your film. I would love to know what has happened since. Is your brother still on the same path? Do you still have contact with him? I can’t even begin to imagine how utterly devastating this situation must be for your family. I have been following the Samantha Lewthwaite story too, and cannot imagine how her poor parents must feel. Honestly, as a mother, I don’t think I could go on living if my child took her path. They must be having their hearts ripped out each and every day, not only thinking of their daughter, but of their grandchildren that are being raised by her. Does your brother have children?

Where was the concern on behalf of the hospital when it became known that the man with the swollen hand had been to the hospital numerous times only to be turned away untreated. I asked the hospital myself only to be fobbed off by Heather that she had seen the program and had no problems with it.
